What people say about Impact Jackets

The third biggest killer of police officers is motorcycle accidents. Police forces are taking advantage of the superior protection Impact Jackets have to offer.

Motorcycle airbag jackets are currently being taken up by the police across the USA, Japan, Taiwan and Brazil.

I was going about 15mph and hit the edge of a rise on the pavement sideways. The front tyre slid and I went right over. I got a couple of scratches on my leg but that was it. The jacket did exactly what it is supposed to. I didn’t even feel it inflate. When I got up I noticed it was. If you look at the left shoulder on the jacket you can see where it scraped on the ground. I think if I was in a normal jacket my shoulder would have been bruised or worse. But because of the jacket I didn’t feel a thing.

Thanks again for designing this jacket. I think everyone should be wearing them.

I was thrown to the ground where I rolled and slid for a football field length of yards. The interstate was shut down. I woke up in the ER of Sinai Hospital with my riding buddies and State Troopers standing over me telling me 'your jacket saved your life.' I sustained a broken thumb socket, which needed immediate surgery, and a sore left rib cage. My 2006 ZX10 Kawasaki Ninja was demolished. I owe it all to God and Impact Jackets. Don’t ride without your Impact.

I pulled a quick u-turn in the street. I began to give the bike gas and follow the right hand bend in the street. I accelerated too fast and at about 30 mph the rear tyre on the bike lost traction and the bike went down on the right side. The bike slid on the pavement between 15 and 20 feet with my leg pinned underneath it. My Impact Jacket inflated right as I began to go down.

The inflation system protected my body as I hit the ground and kept my body and head aligned as I slid across the ground. Because of the inflation system, my head never hit the pavement through out my accident.

My shoulder also slid across the ground and because of the armor built into the shoulders and elbows of the jacket, protecting me from any form of upper body road rash. As for my legs, my jeans were completely shredded and the skin on my knee was taken off as well as minor scrapes along my legs. A week later I had chest x-rays done because of pain in my ribs and I didn’t have one broken rib, just a strained muscle.

Without my Impact Jacket the injuries I sustained during my accident would have been much, much worse. As for my motorcycle, the blinkers were smashed, the exhaust was completely ripped apart, the balancers and bar end were ripped out of the handlebars, the windscreen was cracked, and there was some cosmetic damage to the paint.

Because of my experience with Impact Jackets, I recommend that anyone that rides should get one.
